Hen weekend in the Devonshire countryside

Rather than a single day, why not celebrate over a whole weekend? We hired a private house and arranged a weekend of fun for a group of 10 hens, with ages ranging from 17 to 68.

In more detail

From food to flowers, balloons and welcome signs – the party space was all ready for the hen’s arrival.

Friday: Hens arrived at 3pm and were shown to their rooms before indulging in a homemade champagne afternoon tea. An evening of games, forfeits and plenty of drinks followed.

Saturday: The hens spent the day at a spa in the local coastal village, which had been hired out exclusively for their use. Back at the house, a cocktail masterclass was followed by an evening of singing, dancing and merriment.

Sunday: The hen party headed off on an electric bike ride taking them through villages and along the coastline before stopping off for a pub lunch. After an afternoon at the beach, it was time to get into character ready for a Disney themed murder mystery and a three-course meal prepared by a private chef.

Monday: Breakfast and goodbyes.

I had never been to a hen party before, so I didn’t know what to expect. I have to say the whole weekend completely blew me away. Every single moment and aspect was thought about, and there was something for everyone to enjoy - a miracle really considering the age range of our party.

Nothing was too much for Keet and Sara. We all spent the weekend going on electric bike rides, enjoying homemade afternoon tea, having the luxury of a professional cocktail maker come in and teach us how to create the most amazing drinks and even more! Even though the weekend was busy, Oligra made sure that nothing was ever rushed and everything fell into place effortlessly.

The highlight of the whole weekend had to be the Disney themed murder mystery, such a unique and fun quirk to this special occasion and something I would never have thought of. There was plenty of laughs all round as we all attempted to stay in character and guess the killer.

I am in awe of what Oligra organised for us all. Thank you Keet and Sara, without you I wouldn’t have all of these wonderful memories.
